bunny diet
what should I feed my bunny?
Our bunnies are given a fresh clean supply of filtered water. We feed our bunnies Modesto Milling Organic Rabbit Feed. Our bunnies receive unlimited amounts of Timothy Hay, Orchard Grass, & or Meadow Hay. We also feed our adult bunnies 1 cup of leafy greens (bunny safe fresh or dried veggies & a tiny treat size piece of fruit) daily.
* bunnies should always have access to fresh clean WATER at all times
* bunnies should always have an unlimited supply of Timothy Hay or Orchard Grass * bunnies 8 weeks - 6 months should have an unlimited amount of pellets
* bunnies 6 months or older should have 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of pellets per day and 1 cup of leafy greens & a tiny treat size slice of dried or fresh fruit given once weekly
* bunnies younger than 6 months should only be fed pellets and hay
NO LEAFY GREENS OR FRUITS FOR BABY BUNNIES!
* bunnies 6 months or older should have 1 cup of leafy greens in addition to 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of pellets daily as well as unlimited hay
* ONCE YOUR BUNNY IS 6 MONTHS OLD YOU MAY SLOWLY BEGIN TO ADD LEAFY GREENS TO THEIR DIET.
* ADD ONLY ONE NEW LEAFY GREEN AT A TIME.
* ALWAYS INTRODUCE NEW LEAFY GREENS ONE AT A TIME IN SMALL AMOUNTS AND SLOWLY ALLOW YOUR BUNNY TO WORK UP TO ONE CUP DAILY
* ONCE YOU SEE YOUR BUNNY IS DOING WELL WITH THE NEW LEAFY GREEN YOU MAY BEGIN TO ADD ANOTHER LEAFY GREEN TO THEIR DIET ect.
* FRUITS SHOULD ALWAYS BE GIVEN SPARINGLY AND IN VERY SMALL AMOUNTS (tiny treat size slices or pieces)
housing
Our bunnies live in very spacious solid floor enclosures! Our bunnies are given daily free time to roam & explore around the house all while being supervised for the health & safety of our bunnies of course! Please, note that our home has been bunny proofed for the health & safety of our bunnies. If you have not bunny proofed your home you will need to acquire an ex-pen or puppy playpen for your bunny to play in safely!

what we recommend
litter box
We use two types of litterboxes here at Jack & Birdie's Little Lagomorphs. In our bun bun's bunny enclosures, we use Ware Scatterless Lock N Litter Jumbo size litterbox and we use Carefresh Naturals for the litter material placed in the bottom of the litterbox. We also, use the Great Choice Open Pan Litter Box with the Carefresh Naturals placed on the bottom and hay placed on top of that for our bunnies play area as well several other places throughout our home for our bun buns to munch & potty in.
